Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

Platform usage terms, licensing, accounts, billing, and user obligations for SOVEREIGN\\PROVENANCE.

TL;DR

  • •You retain ownership of your content; we generate provenance metadata
  • •System-generated artifacts (manifests, proofs) are co-authored and cannot be removed
  • •Immutable proofs cannot be deleted once created
  • •Paid plans are billed via Stripe; refunds follow the terms below
  • •Assistive AI may analyze your content; we do not train models on your uploads
  • •Violations may result in account suspension or termination

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SOVEREIGN\PROVENANCE (the platform) or any of its product lines—Mirror (The Provenance Console), Fractal (Artifact Context Layering), Anchor (Core Provenance Protocol)—or any associated Modern Ancients systems, websites, APIs, consoles, or documentation (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, discontinue use immediately.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes that organization.

Product Lines: SOVEREIGN\PROVENANCE is the parent platform name. Our product lines include:

  • Mirror — The Provenance Console for management, diligence surfaces, and operations
  • Fractal — Artifact Context Layering (epistemic confidence, risk analysis, validation traces, digital twin predictions, completeness scoring, risk classification, and negotiation recommendations)
  • Anchor — Core Provenance Protocol (Identity, Seal, Passport, Accord, Ledger, and foundational provenance infrastructure)

Related experiences (including Diligence & Demo Console surfaces such as Build Notes, Product Journey, Discovery & Alignment, Atlas, Network, and Decision Register) are part of the Service when made available to you.

These Terms incorporate the Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, Immutable Data Policy, and other policies linked from the Legal & Provenance Hub, as well as provenance, authorship-intent, and attribution systems described in platform documentation.

2. Nature of the Service

SOVEREIGN\PROVENANCE provides a digital provenance engine and related tooling that may perform:

  • cryptographic hashing and proof-of-origin generation
  • timestamping and lineage tracking
  • immutable archival (e.g., IPFS, OpenTimestamps)
  • provenance manifests and authorship-intent recording
  • automated provenance workflows and evidence exports
  • assistive analysis (including integrity scoring, synthetic/AI visibility signals, and related insights)
  • organization, workspace, partner, and diligence collaboration features

These utilities assist you in managing digital authorship and provenance. They do not constitute legal advice, IP insurance, accounting advice, investment advice, or enforceability guarantees. You remain solely responsible for downstream use of any proofs, exports, or recommendations generated.

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current.

You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized access. We may require multi-factor authentication or other security controls.

Authentication may be provided via email/password and/or third-party identity providers (such as Google, GitHub, Apple, or Facebook) through our authentication infrastructure. Your use of those providers is also subject to their terms.

Organization or workspace administrators may manage members, roles, billing, and content within their tenant. Admins are responsible for lawful use by their users and for configuring access appropriately.

4. License to Use

Modern Ancients LLC grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal or commercial purposes consistent with these Terms and any applicable order, plan, or entitlement.

We may suspend or terminate access if you:

  • misuse or interfere with cryptographic operations
  • attempt to falsify authorship or provenance
  • compromise platform security
  • violate attribution or provenance visibility rules
  • fail to pay applicable fees
  • breach these Terms or incorporated policies

5. Intellectual Property & Provenance Metadata

All platform code, engines, workflows, manifests, lineage utilities, templates, documentation, branding, and cryptographic systems are the exclusive property of Modern Ancients LLC or its licensors.

You retain ownership of your original content.

The Service generates system artifacts—such as provenance manifests, lineage logs, proof bundles, timestamp receipts, authorship-intent metadata, and AI visibility notices. These are co-authored system artifacts and include mandatory attribution metadata. You may not remove, obscure, or tamper with metadata that establishes provenance integrity.

Additional licensing terms appear in our IP & Licensing Policy.

6. User Content & Rights

You own all files, text, code, designs, datasets, and creative works you upload or generate (other than system artifacts described above).

By using the Service, you grant Modern Ancients a limited, worldwide license to process your content, generate provenance proofs, run archival workflows, store immutable logs, operate assistive analysis features, and display relevant metadata in provenance interfaces—solely to provide and improve the Service.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to upload content and to grant the licenses above, and that your content does not violate law or third-party rights.

Modern Ancients does not claim ownership of your ideas, innovations, or IP.

7. AI Features

The Service may offer assistive AI features (for example synthetic detection signals, integrity scoring, lineage analysis, or drafting aids). Outputs are probabilistic and may be incomplete or incorrect. You remain responsible for decisions made using AI outputs.

Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, we do not use your uploaded content to train foundation models for unrelated third-party products. Platform AI governance is further described in our Ethical AI & Model Governance Policy and Attribution & AI Visibility Policy.

Where the Service records AI or synthetic visibility metadata, you may not strip or falsify that disclosure.

8. APIs, Connected Apps & Third-Party Access

If you connect third-party applications, OAuth clients, MCP clients, or API integrations, you authorize the Service to share data according to the scopes you approve. You are responsible for reviewing those apps and revoking access when appropriate.

API keys, tokens, and credentials must be kept confidential. Rate limits and technical restrictions may apply. Reverse engineering, scraping beyond permitted APIs, or circumventing access controls is prohibited.

9. Fees, Subscriptions & Taxes

Certain features require a paid plan, license, or one-time purchase. Prices, entitlements, and billing intervals are shown at purchase or in an applicable order form.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor we designate. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Billing data is handled under the processor's terms and our Privacy Policy.

Unless stated otherwise: subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you authorize recurring charges; and fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly offered at checkout. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge; cancellation stops future renewals but does not generally entitle you to a prorated refund for the current period.

You are responsible for applicable taxes. We may change prices with notice for upcoming renewal periods. Failure to pay may result in suspension or downgrade.

10. Beta, Preview & Evaluation Access

Features labeled beta, preview, evaluation, or similar may be incomplete, change without notice, or be withdrawn. They are provided as-is and may be subject to additional eligibility gates, NDAs, or feedback obligations.

11. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • alter or attempt to circumvent hashing, timestamping, or lineage logging
  • misrepresent authorship or create fraudulent provenance claims
  • extract or reverse-engineer proprietary templates, models, or workflow systems except as allowed by law
  • train AI models on system internals, documentation, manifests, or code without an explicit license
  • attempt unauthorized access, scraping, or platform disruption
  • upload illegal, malicious, or harmful material
  • use the Service to conceal wrongdoing or violate export, sanctions, or other laws
  • resell or sublicense the Service except under a written agreement with us

See the Acceptable Use Policy for additional restrictions. These rules protect the integrity and evidentiary reliability of provenance records.

12. Data Integrity, Provenance Security & Immutable Records

The Service uses cryptographic hashing, signed operations, immutable manifests, and external timestamping channels. These are best-effort mechanisms and do not constitute warranties or guarantees.

Immutable proofs (e.g., timestamp receipts, IPFS archival objects) may be irrevocable and permanent. By using the Service, you acknowledge that some data cannot be deleted after archival. Details are in the Immutable Data Policy.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Modern Ancients disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee:

  • uninterrupted uptime
  • error-free cryptographic processing or AI outputs
  • preservation of external archival endpoints
  • legal enforceability or court admissibility of proofs
  • compatibility with third-party timestamping or storage networks
  • that outputs meet any specific evidentiary, regulatory, or commercial standard

You assume all risk associated with use of the Service and any outputs it produces.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Modern Ancients LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or reputational harm, arising out of or related to the Service—even if advised of the possibility.

Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) if you have no paid plan.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.

15. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Modern Ancients LLC and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights—except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account closure subject to retention and immutability rules. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk to the platform, legal requirements, or non-payment.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, immutability acknowledgments, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.

17. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies.

Except where prohibited, disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts located in the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect IP or provenance integrity.

18. Modifications

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version and updating the "Last updated" date. Material changes affecting paid plans will be communicated with reasonable notice where practicable. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

19. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: These Terms and incorporated policies are the entire agreement regarding the Service, superseding prior conflicting terms for the same subject matter, unless a signed enterprise agreement expressly prevails.
  • Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
  • No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Export: You must comply with applicable export control and sanctions laws.
  • Notices: We may notify you via the Service, account email, or posted legal pages.
