Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Prohibited conduct and platform integrity requirements for SOVEREIGN\\PROVENANCE.

TL;DR

  • •Tampering with provenance systems (hashes, timestamps, lineage) is strictly prohibited
  • •Misrepresentation of authorship or AI involvement is forbidden
  • •Uploading illegal, malicious, or harmful material is not permitted
  • •Violations may result in account suspension, termination, or legal action

1. Guiding Principle

The core purpose of SOVEREIGN\PROVENANCE is to maintain origin integrity and lineage truth. Any activity that threatens the accuracy, authenticity, or reliability of provenance records is strictly prohibited.

2. Prohibited Conduct

A. Tampering With Provenance Systems

You may not:

  • manipulate or forge cryptographic hashes
  • attempt to override, remove, or falsify metadata
  • alter timestamp receipts
  • modify lineage logs
  • disable or bypass archival workflows
  • interfere with automated provenance pipelines
  • attempt to "rewrite" history or create false prior art

All provenance manipulation attempts are logged.

B. Misrepresentation of Authorship

You may not:

  • claim ownership of artifacts you did not create
  • intentionally upload content with falsified origin claims
  • impersonate creators or institutions
  • submit fraudulent content for timestamping

The platform may suspend accounts engaged in authorship fraud.

C. Uploading Prohibited Content

You may not upload or process:

  • illegal content
  • highly sensitive personal data without consent
  • malware, ransomware, or malicious code
  • content intended to deceive, harm, or defraud
  • classified, export-controlled, or regulated data unless you have legal authorization

D. Abuse of Cryptographic or Archival Systems

You may not:

  • flood the system with high-volume automated submissions
  • perform denial-of-service activities
  • exploit archival endpoints (e.g., IPFS) for purposes unrelated to provenance
  • tamper with timestamp networks or attempt to poison distributed proof systems

E. Unauthorized Extraction or Derivation

You may not:

  • scrape or extract proprietary templates
  • train AI models on system internals, manifests, workflows, or documentation unless explicitly licensed
  • reverse-engineer platform logic
  • attempt to replicate proprietary provenance algorithms or manifest formats for resale

F. Circumvention of Access Controls

You may not:

  • bypass authentication
  • probe system vulnerabilities
  • access accounts or artifacts belonging to others without permission
  • attempt privilege escalation

Security logs and anomaly detectors automatically flag such events.

3. AI & Synthetic Content Rules

To maintain transparency and provenance integrity, users must:

  • Disclose AI Involvement: If you knowingly submit AI-generated or AI-assisted content, you must accurately represent it
  • Not Misrepresent Synthetic Material: The platform embeds visibility indicators when detected or declared
  • Not Attempt to Invalidate Metadata: Synthetic signal integrity is required for downstream trust
  • Not Misuse the System to Hide AI Origin: This includes attempts to launder AI output as original human work

4. Data Privacy & Sensitive Data

You may not upload unauthorized personal data, data without rights or consent, protected health information (PHI), payment card data (PCI), state-protected or sealed documents, or government-restricted datasets.

You are responsible for ensuring legal compliance when processing any personal or sensitive data.

5. Fair Use and Reasonable Load

Use of the Service must remain within reasonable, good-faith operational limits. You may not send excessive automated requests, attempt to overload hashing or timestamping infrastructure, or run high-volume archival processes that damage system stability.

Rate limits may be applied.

6. Security Responsibilities

Users must protect their account credentials, report security vulnerabilities responsibly, refrain from harmful security testing, and comply with local data security laws.

We may revoke access from users who ignore security protocols.

7. Enforcement

Modern Ancients may take any of the following actions in response to violations:

  • warning notices
  • rate limiting
  • provenance workflow suspension
  • deletion of prohibited content
  • account suspension or termination
  • legal action if required
  • reporting to authorities in cases of illegal activity

8. Appeals Process

If you believe enforcement was in error, contact support at weare@modernancients.com with contextual evidence. Requests will be reviewed by a security & provenance integrity lead.

Final decisions are made in the interest of protecting provenance reliability.

9. Updates

We may update this AUP periodically. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent revision.
